History
Of chile media

The history of Chile Media started like many companies with very humble beginnings. In 2003, Abram Alonso was eating some peanuts from the peanut factory owned by his extended family in Helotes. The Picosos brand of peanuts sells spicy and culturally unique whole nuts. Abram saw the word “Hot Chile” on the outer label of the can, which inspired the origins of Chile Media.
Years later, Abram changed the name to Hot Chile Media, knowing that Hot Chile Design could not describe all of the company’s capabilities. So for a couple more years, business was done as Hot Chile Media, which had grown to a predominantly print and graphic design operation. By 2007 Hot Chile Media was a distribution point for premium print products and still offered graphic design and imaging services. However, like many businesses, our company matured.
Hot Chile Media has been evolving for the better. In 2010, we changed our call sign to few words that simply said what kind of company we are: an advertising agency and print firm with a comprehensive menu in advertising services.
Eighteen years later, we are going strong and have grown to include larger companies in our portfolio, and we are still proud to serve small businesses that may be starting just as we once did!
Our core competencies include but are not limited to:
- Offset and Digital Print
- Graphic Design
- Business Communication
- Large Format
- Public Relations
- Promotional Marketing
- Websites
- Video
- Imaging Services
- Digital Marketing

2008
First Office
Finally, feeling like a legitimate business with a growing customer portfolio, it was time to get an office. Chile Media’s first office was at Galaxy Plaza. It was a humble 600 square foot launching pad, but the dreams were endless for Abram and Michele.
2010
Moved to bigger office
This move was slightly more significant but proved we were moving in the right direction. We added team members, and our customer portfolio was expanding because we added on web design services.
2012
New Location
First Digital Printer
The hustle got real, and the sky was the limit. We move into the Stuyvesant Plaza off of Gardendale and Wurzbach. We finally had the space to add our first digital printer.
2013
Moved To Art Institute Building
Moving into a 2600 square foot office with new machinery and added on to our sales team. On top of our graphic design and web design services, we added animation.
2016
Increased printing capabilities
We added a dye sublimation printer and were one of the first to offer this service in San Antonio. Chile Media was now able to produce a full line of promotional products in-house, including apparel.
2020
Merry Eats Sponsor
In collaboration with the event’s primary sponsor, Petroleum Distributions, Chile Media sponsored and helped donate food in an event called Merry Eats. It was a drive-thru Christmas meal giveaway on Christmas Eve day during Covid-19.
2021
Minority and Small Business Certifications Awarded
Although Chile Media has grown, we are still a small company. In March 2021, Chile Media was awarded certifications for Emerging Small Business (ESBE), Hispanic American (HABE), Minority (MBE), Small (SBE), and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
